On the 2nd April my mother-in-law celebrates her 70th Birthday. Sadly we can't be with her as she lives on the other side of the world so I made her this album so she could fill it with photo's of her children, their partners and her grandchildren. I would have put the photo's in, except everyone but my husband Andy and I, live on the other side of the world as well.
This 6.5" x 6.5" album is made using the new Prima Nature Garden paper collection, Nature Garden Journalling Chipboard, Prima Genie Stones and lots of Prima flowers and leaves.
I created this 6" x 6" mini album a little while ago. I haven't yet managed to add my old family photos to it, but that job is on my to do list.
The paper that I have used is incredibly old. It's Basic Grey Motifica and I think it was released in 2008, so it's highly unlikely that you will be able to buy it instore today. I didn't even manage to get the full range when I bought it in late 2008. However, Basic Grey have released the collection as a digital download along with a lot of other elements that weren't released originally. If you're into printing your own paper or into digital scrapbooking the collection can be found at http://www.basicgrey.com/digital/shop/collections/show/current/motifica.
I know I haven't posted in ages, but I have been creating and have a few posts to make over the next week.
This first one is one of my standard mini albums. Just before Christmas my husband's cousin and his wife came to stay from England. Andy hadn't seen his cousin in over 22 years, so we were very excited to see them and absolutely loved having them to stay. I made this little mini album for them as a Christmas gift. The Kaisercraft Up, Up and Away collection was perfect. Apologies for the poor quality lighting.
Other than the ribbon, bookplate on the cover, rings and cardstock pages everything else is Kaisercraft Up, Up and Away.
It's Spring here in New Zealand which also means it's time for our local Hospice Spring Fashion Parade. This year instead of Raffles and Silent Auctions we are going to have Mystery Envelopes. One of the prizes is this mini canvas that I made. I hope the winner likes it. (Sorry about the mixed lighting in the photo's - it was one of those 'all seasons in one day' day).
After completing my Curtain Call mini album I had lot's of scrap paper left over. Normally I just put this in a box along with all my other scrap paper and it's never seen again. This time I decided to make a few quick and simple cards.
When I first saw the Graphic 45 Curtain Call collection I thought the images were great, but wasn't sure about the monochromatic colour scheme. However, when one of the ladies on a mini album class that I was teaching selected this collection for her mini I was totally smitten with the papers and had to have them. I knew just what I wanted to do with them, and who the album would be for. Friends of ours, Mike and Alison, love going to fancy dress parties and always choose very dramatic costumes, so I thought this album would be perfect for them.
